Getting your PCB made

When you've designed and laid out your PCB you need to get it made! You can make the board using DIY home-etch type kits, which can be okay, but for professional results (and for multilayer boards) it's best to use a PCB house.

I recommend PCB-Pool. I've used them a fair bit and never had a duff PCB, they've always been on time and are real cheap. They have bureaus in Ireland and the US I think.

What happened to Protel

Some good info here from the UK rep on the follow-on to Protel and it's new capabilities

Aim of website

This site is aimed at sharing hints, tips and resources for users of Protel 99SE, a CAD software package for designing electronics.

It's quite a few years old now, and there are more modern versions available from Altium, but I use it regularly at work and am always impressed with it's capabilities.
